PSPA CHARITY
Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company, a 100% volunteer station that has been ‘protecting your national heritage since 1949,’ is our sponsored charity this year. The station is requesting medical supplies for EMTs and first responders (gauze, bandages, blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes, etc), as well as monetary donations to purchase medical supplies and rescue equipment. Other items that are needed for the community are rope ladders, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors.
Start working with your classmates to brainstorm fundraising ideas – some ideas are proceeds from a fun run, bake sale, car wash, and dance-a-thon, donations from faculty and university members, and donations from companies in your community.
There will be two contests for the 15 Pennsylvania PA programs – the top two schools to raise money and the top two schools to raise the most donated medical supplies.
For all PSPA members, there will also be a contest, with proceeds going to the company, at our conference Welcome Reception on October 1, 2008 for the ‘most unique’ bridesmaid dress or retro tux. All members: be sure to wear yours and join the party!
