WELCOME RECEPTION & SILENT AUCTION BECOME ONE!

Well, just as in life, the PSPA Annual Conference changes. And this is one that many have asked for in the past. We are giving you a night off! Yes, it is official. We have nothing planned for your first night in Harrisburg and this affords everyone the opportunity to explore the city, have dinner with family or friends or just kick up your heels and relax in your room. The options are limitless. But get ready the following evening to celebrate! PSPA is 35 years old and we are celebrating in style. Not only will we be having our annual PAC Auction but we are planning a “gala” that is fitting of our first 35 years of existence. For your entertainment pleasure, we have contracted “The Uptown Band” ( a seven person group) which is one of the northeast’s most versatile bands. Based out of Philadelphia, this group offers a contemporary mix of Jazz, Funk, Pop and Rock. The band features members that have performed at such entertainment venues as Myrtle Beach, the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Caesar’s Resort and Disney World.

So mark your calendars for Thursday, October 28th. Don’t forget your checkbooks and credit cards. This year’s silent auction is going to be one of the best!

We will meet in the Hilton lobby at 7:00 a.m. The first 25 participants to register will receive a commemorative T-shirt. The entry fee is $15. Registration is available on the conference registration form or on-site. Not interested in running? Come out for a brisk walk or bring your bike for a spin. PSPA Host City Charity

This year’s Host City Charity is the Pennsylvania Hunger Action Center. The Hunger Action Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating the causes of hunger through advocacy, education and food security programs across Pennsylvania. Established in 1978, the Center is a statewide organization financially supported by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development as well as private foundations, religious bodies, businesses and individuals. This year there will be a few challenges - the first will be between the Pennsylvania PA programs - which can raise the most money and can come up with the most bags of food? The second challenge involves the eight regions - who can raise the most money? Please participate by bringing a few canned goods to place in the food boxes located in the registration area, as well as making a monetary donation on the registration form.
