Committee Name:               Awards Committee

Committee Members:         Bridget Calhoun, PA-C

 

 

Purpose of Committee:

 

To recognize and honor those Physician Assistants who have demonstrated outstanding service to their profession and to their community, and by doing so have enhanced the PA profession.

 

Annual awards include:

·         Physician Assistants of the Year

·         Humanitarian Physician Assistant of the Year

·         Life Achievement Award

·         Educator of the Year

·         One student scholarship for all 14 of Pennsylvania’s PA programs

 

Other awards may be presented as designated by the Awards Committee and the PSPA Board of Directors.

 

 

What the committee accomplished in 2001-2002: 

               

  • Awarded PA of the Year
  • Awarded Humanitarian PA of the Year
  • Awarded Life Achievement Award
  • Responsible for Student Achievement Awards
  • Developed criteria for the PA Educator of the Year Award

 

 

What the committee plans to accomplish in 2002-2003:

 

  • Increase nomination for awards through possible direct mailing with membership
  • Recognition of preceptors
  • Increase committee membership
