2009 Political Action Committee Annual Report

Active Members: Patti Skiba, Stacy Ryan, Kim Tacconi, Jill Clemente
Purpose: The PAC exists to educate our state legislators about our profession to allow them to make informed votes on legislation that affects physician assistants. To accomplish this, we must actively raise funds, make visits to our legislators, communicate via mail about our relevant issues, all in an effort to “positively change legislation through education.”
Accomplishments for October 2008/Current: The Professional Medal Foundation, young in its second year, has continued to be successful, raising over $8,000 as of the last update. Plans are in the works to hold our 10 th annual silent auction, our other large fund raiser at the annual conference.
Plans for upcoming year: Silent auction, continue to actively engage P.A.s from across the state to attend political events in support of our PA-friendly legislators, launch third annual medal campaign of giving to the PAC.
