Up Close Brochure

The Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants is pleased to announce the development of a revised Physician Assistant Up Close brochure. The revised brochure is an eight panel fold out brochure with 18 photographs of real Physician Assistants at work. The content of the brochure includes:

Section 18.171, Chapter 18, Subchapter D of the State Board of Medicine states "In the physician assistant supervisor's office and satellite locations, a notice plainly visible to patients shall be posted in a prominent place explaining that a physician assistant is authorized to assist a physician in the provision of medical care and services." This brochure provides the information needed to be within compliance with this portion of the regulations.

Brochure: Add A Practice Asset by Hiring A Physician Assistant…

The PSPA has developed a brochure to introduce the benefits of hiring a PA to physicians, administrators, and/or office managers. This brochure is a must for PAs trying to create new positions in the medical community or to update employers who have previously employed PAs. It can be included with any resume or letter of inquiry. It is a useful tool to introduce the filling of a position with a PA that was originally posted for another health care professional when this is appropriate or may expand the capabilities of the posted position.

The brochure briefly discusses the Physician/PA Team, reimbursement, the PA's roles and responsibilities, education, and certification. One panel specifically lists financial and clinical benefits to hiring a PA. The brochure closes with important contact information for PSPA, AAPA, NCCPA, the Association of PA Programs, and Pennsylvania’s regulatory boards for prospective employers to receive additional information.

This brochure is available free of charge to PSPA members. Please contact the PSPA to receive your complimentary copies.
