Established in 2023 by the Pennsylvania Society of PAs, the Future Provider – Financial Hardship Scholarship seeks to provide the opportunity to future PA providers interested in medical legislation, the promotion of the PA profession, and equitable healthcare. This scholarship will support clinical year PA students facing financial hardship or financial disadvantage who are engaging in self-led community service and are developing critical professional skills to focus on expanding healthcare and access to those in desperate need.
The scholarship covers the cost of a 1-year PSPA student membership (a $30 cost) for 34 students each year via two application cycles. This scholarship application will be open the months of March and August.
Eligibility
Second year (clinical) PA students that fit any of the following criteria:
- Are currently not PSPA members
- Have a PSPA membership that was required by their program
- Have a PSPA membership that was covered by their program
- Demonstrable financial hardship (evidenced through responses)
- A submitted Google Forms application
Programs may have multiple scholarship recipients with a limit of 7 scholarship awards per program.
